Emeryville, CA—Innovative Interfaces, a leading provider of library automation software that empowers libraries globally, is proud to announce that Ethel K. Smith Library at Wingate University in North Carolina has selected the Sierra integrated library system.
With service to three campus locations, including the Ballantyne Campus in Charlotte and the Hendersonville Campus, the library staff at Wingate is continually focused on providing an exemplary student experience. Choosing a system that could both maximize efficiency and help deliver a superior level of service was essential.
“We always consider the impact on our student experience in everything we do here at Wingate,” said Amee H. Odom, Director of the Library. “We not only needed a solution that would easily work well for all our campus constituents, but one that would enable us to deliver on that important end user goal. Sierra was clearly that system.”
The team is eager to put new workflows in place and be ready to serve students when Wingate moves from Ex Libris Voyager to Sierra in the new academic year.
With improved control over their collection and catalog records and greater opportunity for MARC record personalization, Sierra will position the library well for curriculum support. A more expeditious workflow will also eliminate duplication, freeing up more time for the team to focus on service to students and faculty.
Odom said the Innovative customer service experience was equally as important to the library’s evaluation process. “Providing that exceptional user experience is paramount. Naturally, we wanted to find a partner who could emulate what we do for our own patrons. Innovative was responsive, expedient, and attentive to us through the entire process. We are looking forward to working with Innovative and what we can achieve for our patrons.”
“Next-generation products and strong, supportive partnerships are crucial to library success. Collaborative relationships like these are precisely what inspire and enable us to keep extending our solution capabilities and empower libraries with new, forward-looking opportunities,” said Innovative CEO Jim Tallman. “I am extremely pleased to welcome Wingate University to the Innovative community.”
