Innovative, part of Clarivate, is thrilled to share that the Orion Township Public Library in Michigan has gone live with its new Vega Promote Web website.
“Our previous website served us well for nearly a decade but had become extremely dated, and a handful of the third-party add-ons we relied on were no longer being maintained. We were well overdue for a rebuild,” said Steve Saunders, Head of Information Technology at Orion Township Public Library.
“We were really impressed with Innovative’s vision for the direction of Vega Promote Web and were eager to help guide the development of what has the potential to be an extremely well-integrated public catalog and public website experience for patrons,” he added.
Just as the Vega Promote Web project was getting underway, the Orion Township Public Library suffered a ransomware attack, and while the library recovered their data quickly, their previous website’s performance began to degrade to the point where it became unusable. As a result, implementation of the new site happened more quickly than originally planned.
“The drag-and-drop WYSIWYG [“what you see is what you get”] nature of the Promote Web backend made the process of recreating large chunks of our site pretty quick and painless, and we’ve been able to get a new and improved site up and running in a very short period of time,” Steve explained.
Vega Promote Web gives libraries autonomy to create and manage their own websites, where they can easily showcase their ever-evolving services, programs, and resources.
