Innovative, part of Clarivate™, is happy to announce the availability of new customization features for Vega Discover catalogs. Themed Discover catalogs include features that allow libraries to create custom catalogs with homepages and resources tailored to specific audiences or collections.
The customization features for themed catalogs are easy to use. There is a theme builder created with the same intuitive interface Vega Library Experience (LX) solutions are known for, where libraries can upload custom backgrounds and icons or select from an included library of images. Themed catalogs can also be configured to focus on a specific topic or collection.
“Our vision for library experience is that any time a patron engages with the library, it should be personalized, accessible, and effortless,” said Kat Cuff, Director, Product Management at Innovative. “These customizations give libraries a way to personalize catalogs for specific audiences, using Vega Discover’s accessible interface, and creating a frictionless discovery experience for patrons. And we believe the experience of staff to design each catalog will also be easy and effortless.”
Among the options provided with themed catalogs are Vega Discover Kids Catalogs, which are designed to be easy to use for younger patrons, and to attract their attention via visual icons, colorful buttons, and playful backgrounds. Kids Catalogs can be easily configured to automatically limit search results to age-appropriate library materials.
Like the current homepage designs, themed catalogs can promote Discover showcases, specific library items, featured content, and upcoming events.
