Innovative, part of Clarivate™, today celebrates the launch of an elevated and intuitive website experience for Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne, Indiana using Innovative solutions. Allen County Public Library (ACPL) is the first library to launch a website made with Innovative’s new website builder, Vega Promote Web. The library was seeking a solution that would support their vision for a seamless user experience and greater discovery for their community, whether online or in a library branch. Vega Promote Web quickly became the product of choice. Allen County Public Library used the opportunity to redesign two sites for their community: the main library website and the ACPL Genealogy Center website.
At the same time, the library took on an ambitious project of launching three additional Innovative solutions: the Polaris integrated library system (ILS), Vega Discover for online discovery, and the Innovative Mobile patron app.
“A system upgrade of this magnitude is never easy, but we approached it with a ‘can do’ attitude with the needs of our patrons at the forefront,” said project manager and ACPL Chief of Public Service Operations Kim Bolan. “I am so proud of how our team came together to usher in this new, modern suite of tools for our community – and with minimal impact to the patron experience. This upgrade puts ACPL in a position to meet our current needs and our goals for the future!”
As a beta partner for Vega Promote Web, the library contributed to optimizing and enhancing the onboarding and implementation processes from the perspective of a library juggling numerous projects at once.
Allen County is home to the largest public library genealogy collection in the country, which serves visitors from across the country and around the world. It was important to ACPL to create a separate website for the genealogy collection that blended seamlessly with the library website and offered an intuitive interface for researchers going directly to that collection.
