Swiping between Item Detail screens, Viewing Copy Numbers Save Time and Effort for Staff
EMERYVILLE, Calif. — Innovative Interfaces, a leading provider of library automation software that empowers libraries globally, has launched Mobile Worklists Release 2.6 to enhance library staff workflows through more efficient navigation and processes. This release includes the ability to quickly swipe between Item Detail screens and view copy number information on each Item Detail screen. Mobile Worklists, a two-time Modern Library Awards winner, is Innovative’s native iOS app for library staff that makes material handling and management tasks easier and more efficient.
Two new features in Mobile Worklists Release 2.6 combine to make it more efficient for library staff to verify materials in the stacks using the app. Staff can now quickly navigate between Item Detail screens within a list by swiping up or down to view the next item. This saves time because users no longer need to return to the main list view in order to navigate to the next item. This release also includes the addition of copy number information for items on the Item Detail screen. This makes it easier for staff to search for items in the stacks by confirming they are looking at the right copy using the number on the spine and the Item Detail screen – all without handling the item.
In addition to scanning native Sierra barcodes, Mobile Worklists Release 2.6 now offers libraries using other symbologies the ability to scan EAN barcodes, including EAN-8, EAN-13, and JAN. This works for libraries who use EAN barcodes in their Sierra system. The app uses the barcode scan to match the item to a record in Sierra. This improves the usability of the app for a diverse range of libraries.
“Mobile Worklists has proven to be a great benefit to library staff, and the best part is that the development of each new release is driven by library partner input,” said Chris Fields, Chief Technology Officer at Innovative. “Mobile technology is a cost-effective way to significantly improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.”
The launch of Mobile Worklists Release 2.6 marks the third enhancement release for the app in 2017. Mobile Worklists customers can download the new version of the mobile app from the Apple App Store immediately. Devices configured for automatic downloads (most common) will receive the update automatically. Mobile Worklists is currently available for library partners using Sierra.
