Four Innovative Solutions Win Platinum Distinction in 2019 Modern Library Awards

MyLibrary!, Polaris Web Application, and Resource Sharing honored; Mobile Worklists continues four-year Platinum streak

EMERYVILLE, Calif. — Innovative, a leading provider of library software and solutions, is proud to announce that four products – Mobile Worklists, MyLibrary!, Polaris Web Application, and Resource Sharing – received platinum distinction, the highest honor, from LibraryWorks’ fifth annual Modern Library Awards (MLAs).

LibraryWorks created the MLAs to recognize the top products and services in the industry, evaluated on criteria including functionality, value, and customer service. This year, product submissions were sent to more than 80,000 librarians for scoring.

“We are honored to receive these Platinum awards for our fourth year in a row on the judging ballot,” said Innovative CEO Jim Tallman. “Innovative has a unique blend of library and business expertise, and we are thrilled that the market continues to take notice as we deliver value-based solutions for librarians and patrons. We are excited for the future as we continue to make large investments in industry-transforming solutions like these award winners.”

Mobile Worklists

Mobile Worklists, a mobile iOS app for collection management, received Platinum for the fourth year in a row. The app received two perfect scores (10 out of 10) from judges in the areas of overall product quality and product quality compared with competitive/similar products. One judge shared, “This is a great product that makes transferring titles much simpler for Innovative libraries.”

MyLibrary!

MyLibrary! is an iOS and Android mobile app that makes it easy for patrons to engage with library resources anywhere, anytime. In its first year on the ballot, MyLibrary! received Platinum. Judges who use the app rated the overall quality of MyLibrary! a 9.75 out of 10. One judge shared, “The app is reliable and intuitive. It is a great addition to our library services!”

Polaris Web Application

The Polaris Web Application brings the power and functionality of the Polaris ILS public services workflows to library staff through a browser. It can be used on a desktop, notebook, or tablet, freeing staff to connect with patrons and complete tasks wherever is most convenient – even outside the library walls. After three consecutive years of Gold distinction, it moved up to Platinum this year. One judge shared, “The Web App continues to get new and compelling features while also getting closer to feature parity with the traditional client. New customers and staff find it very easy to train on.”

Innovative Resource Sharing

Innovative Resource Sharing is a convenient and cost-effective solution for libraries to give patrons access to more materials and a better borrowing experience. This is its second consecutive year of Platinum distinction. One judge shared, “This product has had a large impact on the rural communities. It has broadened the scope of resource sharing not only for their residents, but the ability to share their unique collections with other libraries. Circulation has seen a dramatic increase due to this product, as well as a more engaged community of active users.”
