The Innovative User’s Group is hosting their first-ever virtual IUG meeting from March 22-25. In addition to being COVID-safe, this virtual conference may enable some libraries to attend who might otherwise have skipped the physical gathering due to budget constraints.
While there’s no need to pack your bags this year, there are some ways you can prepare once you log in to the conference software using the link you received when you registered:
- Fill out your online IUG conference profile with a picture and a bio to serve as an introduction to your fellow conference-goers.
- Create an itinerary by marking sessions you want to attend with a star.
- Check out the Exhibit Hall > Hall of Solutions and schedule a meeting with an Innovative Customer Support staff member.
- Schedule an appointment with your account manager at the Exhibit Hall > Innovative Interfaces virtual booth.
- Starting Monday, presentation videos will be available the day before the scheduled presentation and Q&A, so you can watch at a time that’s convenient for you.
If you registered early, you will receive your IUG 2021 notebook and pen in late March or early April to take notes (or doodle)!
In addition to the scheduled meetings and the sessions Innovative is hosting, you can connect with members of our executive team at multiple sessions Tuesday through Thursday; keep an eye on your email Inbox for details.

There are over 1000 registrants so far!
If you’re already a member of IUG, then just head over to the Innovative Users Group website https://www.innovativeusers.org/ and log in to access the registration form.
If you have not yet joined the IUG, the membership fees are a reasonable $110 per year for your library, which includes not only access to the annual conference but a listserv and online forums that are active throughout the year.
About the Innovative Users Group
The Innovative Users Group provides a community for anyone and everyone who uses Innovative solutions to support their library experience and operations. In the field of integrated library software solutions, this group is the only self-governed organization. Since its origin in 1991, it has been funded and managed entirely by its own members.
The IUG is led by the Steering Committee whose members are elected by the general membership. It consists of a Chair, Vice Chair/Chair Elect, Past Chair, Secretary/Treasurer, and five Members at Large. All members of the Steering Committee volunteer their services to the organization.
Most presentation videos will be available for viewing on-demand, with a live session for questions and answers with the presenter. You can watch the presentations at your convenience or right before the Q&A session. We’ll even have some special Detroit-themed fun to honor the city where we’d originally planned to meet in this year!
IUG and Innovative are excited to announce that the first 600 people to register for the IUG 2021 conference will receive an IUG 2021 notebook and pen! What to expect: All notebooks and pens going to attendees from one library will be boxed together and sent to your library addressed to “IUG 2021 Attendees.” We will make an effort to send notebooks to arrive before the conference, but they may arrive afterward.
Were you waiting to register after the program schedule was released? You are in luck! The schedule is available on the IUG website: Log in and go the IUG 2021 Conference ➟ Conference Program Schedule.
Don’t forget, you need to have paid the registration fee by March 19, 2021 in order to sign on to the conference on March 22.
We hope to see you there!
