Central Arkansas Library System and The Ferguson Library Launch Vega Promote

Innovative, part of Clarivate, is proud to announce that both Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) and The Ferguson Library have launched Vega Promote.

Designed with libraries in mind, Vega Promote is the marketing automation module of the Vega Library Experience (LX) suite, a cloud-based platform, that allows library staff to easily communicate and manage a full range of materials, programs, and services. Vega Promote keeps community members and patrons informed through targeted and relevant communications, keeping promotion tied tightly to other library solutions and thus eliminating the need for libraries to use a patchwork approach to digital marketing and communications—empowering libraries to communicate what they want, when they want, to whom they want.

In 2020, CALS and The Ferguson Library were two of the first six public library systems to join Innovative’s Vega Development Partner program—an advisory and testing group designed to provide direct input on product strategy and direction for Vega LX. Since joining the Vega Development Partner program, both library systems have also deployed Vega Discover to their patrons. Vega Discover is the responsive and accessible discovery module of Vega LX.

“The team behind Vega LX is genuinely interested in our professional feedback and our patron’s perceptions of the user experience—they take the time to ask thoughtful questions and to listen,” said Nathan James, Deputy Executive Director for Technology & Collection Innovation at CALS. “I have worked in libraries—and in the library software industry—for many years, and I’ve not encountered this level of engagement before to develop something that meets our needs in a meaningful way.”

CALS includes 15 branch libraries located in Little Rock, Perryville, and throughout Pulaski County. CALS is home to the largest public library collection in Arkansas, including circulating collections of toys, telescopes, tools, hotspots, and more. The Central Arkansas Library System also provides a wide variety of programs and resources, such as the annual Six Bridges Book Festival and the Encyclopedia of Arkansas, the only state encyclopedia in the country to be produced by a library system. Library Square, the library system’s downtown Little Rock campus, includes the Main Library, as well as the Ron Robinson Theater, the Bobby L. Roberts Library of Arkansas History & Art, the Galleries & Bookstore at Library Square, and the Rock It! Lab, a resource for local and aspiring entrepreneurs.

“Since Vega Promote provides easy-to-use templates for our different promotional emails, we envision a streamlined workflow that will allow us to create engaging emails that will help us highlight our many programs and services,” said Maisam Nouh, Information Technology Supervisor at The Ferguson Library in Connecticut. “The Innovative team has guided us and listened to our concerns through every step of the process.”

For more than one hundred years, The Ferguson Library has supplied free and equal access to information for the people of Stamford, Connecticut. A long-time Innovative partner, The Ferguson Library proudly serves 376,000 annual visitors with their collection of over 625,000 items.

Today, over 60 libraries across the globe have selected the Vega LX platform for their patron engagement needs.

Attendees at the 2022 ALA Annual Conference can visit Booth #2507 to see a demo of Vega Promote or meet in person with an Innovative representative.
