Extend Your Library's Reach
 
Adding non-traditional items or a library of things collection to your catalog is a great way to extend your reach, create more community connections and improve equity. The challenge: making these items visible and attractive to your patrons. Several catalogers have begun using the 856 tag to create custom images for materials that do not have a “book cover” available. For featuring test prep assets, toys, tools and instruments—just about anything you lend—this solution can go a long way toward helping to attract more attention and increase usage. How Do You Know Vega Discover Is Accessible?
 
Innovative recently announced the release of our first Vega Discover accessibility assessment. Partnering with a third-party agency to complete the Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT), they reviewed the Vega Discover user interface for compliance with all Federal Accessibility Standards (ADA, Section 508, and WCAG 2.1). Accessible software is more than just a nice feature, we recognize that it’s required functionality for libraries to truly serve all community members equitably. Read more
