Innovative, part of Clarivate and leading global provider of library software, announced today that Newcastle City Public Library in Australia has selected Vega LX, Polaris Leap, and Innovative Mobile as the next solution for its library staff and patrons.
Newcastle City Public Library serves a community of over 250,000 people throughout the Australian state of New South Wales with over one million annual circulations across its nine physical branch locations and digital collections. Library members enjoy access to free unlimited Wi-Fi, public computers, printing and scanning services, free eBooks, Magazines, DVDs, book borrowing and more.

Innovative Mobile is a full-featured library patron app with support for full search, account management, and consortia plus additional features for implementing social-distancing processes such as electronic checkouts, library self-checkout via barcode and RFID, and curbside pickup. Innovative Mobile is available for Sierra and Polaris libraries and works on Android and Apple iOS devices.
The Vega Library Experience (LX) suite is a cloud-based platform that allows library staff to easily communicate and manage the full range of materials, programs, and services available to their community. Vega is designed to offer an engaging library experience to staff, patrons, donors, and citizens. Newcastle City Public Library will be the first library system is Australia to gain access to Vega Discover—the first module of the Vega LX suite.
Discover is a full-featured discovery tool that not only delivers premier search results, but also features a patron bookshelf with custom reading lists, patron account management, library-curated showcases, and smart showcases on related resources and topics. Vega Discover also comes with enhanced exploration tools, powered by Syndetics Unbound’s enrichment content, such as series data, reader reviews, browse by reading level and more, as part of an engaging library experience.
