Innovative, part of Clarivate, and the Innovative User’s Group (IUG) are working to migrate the customer submission and voting platform, Idea Lab, to Idea Exchange, which is hosted on the UserVoice platform. This transition will provide customers with an all-new means to submit and vote on product features within the full Clarivate product ecosystem.
Since launching in 2017, more than 2000 submissions to Idea Lab have generated over 200 product enhancements across Innovative portfolio products, including Polaris, Sierra, Innovative Resource Sharing (INN-Reach), and Vega Discover.
Like its predecessor, Idea Exchange will be open to all Innovative customers, from front-line staff to directors, to submit, comment on, and vote on ideas for product enhancements, while implementing several improvements to enhance the user experience.
What you need to know:
- Existing ideas: Even though Idea Lab is closed to new submissions, the IUG and Innovative are vetting the remaining submissions and will migrate them to Idea Exchange.
- New ideas: The Idea Exchange home for Innovative is going to be officially unveiled at the IUG Conference, starting May 10.
- New process: Policy and process changes will be announced in conjunction with the IUG Conference in May 2023.
Library input into features and updates in Polaris and Sierra are a big part of the product design at Innovative, and that won’t be changing with the migration to Idea Exchange.
With this move, Innovative will join ProQuest and Ex Libris in using the Idea Exchange platform, which means libraries will have a more consistent experience when making enhancement suggestions.
