The theme of the Summer Conference 2019 is “Delivering through partnerships”. Delegates will have the opportunity to reflect on global developments on open access and restraining the cost of content, and the role that libraries are playing in driving change internationally. We will also explore how libraries are delivering on their missions to enhance the student experience and deliver research excellence through partnerships within and beyond the institution as traditional barriers between the library and institution break down. We will look at the implications of these changes for the development of the library workforce.

The LIBER Conference brings library directors and their staff together for three days of networking and collaboration. Delegates mainly come from Europe but people from around the world are welcome, and we regularly welcome guests from countries including Australia, Canada and the United States. The goal of the conference is to identify the most pressing needs for research libraries, and to share information and ideas for addressing those needs.

The 85th World Library and Information Congress of IFLA will be held in Athens, Greece from August 24 to August 30, 2019. The Opening Ceremony will take place at the Lambrakis Hall on Sunday, August 25, 2019.

LIANZA Conference 2019 will be held in Auckland from October 21-23 at the Vodafone Events Centre in Manukau.
