EMERYVILLE, Calif.—Innovative Interfaces, a leading provider of library automation software that empowers libraries globally, is pleased to announce that West Baton Rouge Parish Library (WBRPL) in Louisiana now benefits from strengthened workflow efficiencies and expanded functionality with a fully implemented Polaris integrated library system.
WBRPL selected the Polaris ILS to optimize its reach within and beyond the library, using the open, integrated system to connect with patrons and third-party vendors, and seamlessly share data.
Migrating to Polaris has empowered library staff to analyze trends about collection, circulation, and patron data. With easy access to this information, the staff now has enhanced ability to create customized reports while patrons experience easier, faster service response.
“West Baton Rouge Parish adheres to the motto: Open Libraries, Open Minds,” said Ruth Bond, who recently joined WBRPL as Library Director and has previous experience as a Polaris user. “Innovative’s entire open system and collaborative philosophy around sharing data and resources to sustain and improve the patron experience – it is just such a very naturally good fit with our goals.”
The Polaris Web Application also played a key role in the evaluation decision. Built on the Polaris ILS foundation, it provides browser-based workflows, giving staff mobile access to vital data and freeing them to connect with patrons in various locales throughout the community. The Web Application has already proven very useful for the WBRPL’s mobile library and outreach efforts.
“Patrons want to interact with libraries that support the advanced technologies they use in their everyday life,” said Innovative CEO Jim Tallman. “Libraries need to provide patrons with a transformative experience by working with a solutions partner that has the tools, knowledge, technology, and insights to support and educate that 21st century patron. We are very pleased that West Baton Rouge Parish Library chose Innovative to be that reliable and forward-thinking partner.”
WBRPL transitioned to Innovative Polaris from TLC’s Library·Solution in March. To learn more about the value of Polaris for public libraries.
