Mobile application features new item record details and list sort criteria
Emeryville, CA—Innovative Interfaces, a leading provider of library automation software that empowers libraries globally, has launched the latest version of its mobile application for library staff, facilitating more effective material handling with greater visibility into item record details.
Mobile Worklists Release 2.1 further increases efficiency for both large-scale collection projects and daily operations by enabling staff to sort multiple lists based on additional criteria, from a mobile device.
“Imagine how quickly library staff could do their jobs if they didn’t have to spend half the time moving throughout the library?” said Leif Pedersen, Executive Vice President, Product at Innovative. “We believe staff must be equipped with the proper solutions and tools to quickly and efficiently perform tasks, and the new enhancements to Mobile Worklists highlight valuable item information to make this possible.”
To streamline staff workflows, Mobile Worklists Release 2.1 offers:
•Item detail screens—View additional information to verify items within a list, including title, author, location, call number, barcode, status, last check-in date, item message, internal note, OPAC message, item type, item code, and inventory date;
•Sorting capabilities in My Lists—When projects require multiple lists, library staff can now sort lists alphabetically, by date, or by item count to easily maintain and keep track of lists;
•Usability updates—A more efficient way to delete items from lists per feedback from libraries currently using the mobile application.
For California Western School of Law, the Mobile Worklists application helped staff quickly and easily clear out a large storage facility. “Some of the items in storage we would keep, and some we would discard. We had visions of cart after cart of books coming into the library for decision and processing, but with Mobile Worklists, we were able to make these decisions on the spot,” said Amy Moberly, Assistant Director for Technical and Administrative Services at California Western School of Law. “All of that hassle was eliminated with the ease, simplicity, versatility, and mobility of Mobile Worklists!”
Mobile Worklists is a native mobile application and is currently available on iOS-based devices connecting to a Sierra library system. Visit the Innovative website to learn more about Innovative’s mobile solutions for libraries.
