MetaData Builder helps fully integrate special collections into the library database by providing easy-to-use technologies for editing and storing Encoded Archival Description (EAD) and Dublin CoreSM XML metadata. Using these XML technologies allows libraries to expand the breadth of their metadata to enrich the user experience and increase findability of special collections.
Once new metadata is entered into the system, library users enjoy the same simple or advanced-searching options offered with MARC records in the online catalog. They can also move easily from discovery in the WebPAC to linking directly to digital objects in your collection.
