Media Management

Media Management is the reliable way to create, describe, and present digital collections within the Millennium environment. Media Management handles virtually any type of digital object using familiar MARC format for descriptive metadata . With a simple catalog search, library users will discover items with attached text, multimedia files, or a series of thumbnail images. And the document-indexing option allows users to search the full text of integrated documents such as Word® and PDF® docs.

You can enhance Media Management with Copyright and Access, which provides controlled access to media when authentication or fees are required to view or print materials, or E-Course Reserves, which gives students access to course-specific information along with associated media files and copyright notes.

From start to finish, Media Management simplifies the digitization process with integrated tools that allow staff to import, scan, view, edit, and index digital objects with maximum efficiency. It also provides the flexibility needed to arrange images in a set, create a single record for an object, or associate multiple files and file types with a catalog record.

Full integration with Millennium and proven industry standards for image transfer, rendering, and cataloging, Media Management provides patrons with a powerful search and discovery experience as reliable as any library or commercial site on the Web.
