Central Piedmont Community College (NC) Selects Sierra, Encore Synergy

Emeryville, CA—North Carolina's Central Piedmont Community College has selected the Sierra Services Platform and Encore Synergy. The library is migrating to Sierra from a Symphony® system provided by SirsiDynix.

"The Services Platform model is the new trend and we want to embrace it to stay current," says Gloria Kelley, Dean of Libraries. "We like that it has open architecture and expect improvements in the traditional ILS indexing over what we have had in the past."

The Library will also implement Encore Synergy for one-search access of articles and local collections. Says Gena Craig, Systems Librarian, "We think users will respond positively to Encore because it gives a nice balance of articles and books in what is returned. Going back and forth easily between books and articles makes what we have more accessible."
