UC Berkeley to Install Full Millennium ILS and Electronic Resource Management
ARL Member Extends Innovative Leadership Among Prestigious Group
Emeryville, CA—Innovative announced today that the University of California Berkeley Library will install a full Millennium integrated library system with the industry-leading Electronic Resource Management module to serve the needs of its staff, students, and scholars. With this selection, 39 Millennium systems are installed at Association of Research Libraries (ARL) member libraries making Millennium the systems leader among this group. The Library is migrating from a locally developed GLADIS system and OCLC SiteSearch®.
"We've been using Innovative Interfaces products for 20 years in our Technical Services Department and we will build on this foundation by upgrading to the full Millennium system," says Bernie Hurley, Director for Library Technologies. "It will allow us to integrate our services as well as efficiently manage our e-journal subscriptions with the Innovative ERM. We look forward to this implementation because we've had a long and productive association with Innovative and have been pleased with their service and products."
"We are delighted to continue and expand our partnership with the University of California Berkeley libraries with the implementation of the Millennium system," says Neil Block, Innovative's Vice President for Worldwide Sales. Millennium will provide significant benefits to the UC Berkeley user community and library staff. WebPAC Pro provides access to the Library's physical collection and electronic resources, including sophisticated indexing of Chinese, Hebrew and Arabic materials. Block continues, "We look forward to continuing our association with one of the world's leading research institutions."
